The History of 1955 Topps, the Yankees & Dodgers World Series, and Set Break information!

As many of you have probably seen I recently launched our next set break, the 1955 Topps set. This set is historically relevant for a multitude of reasons.

Firstly, this was the first set that Topps made with a landscape view. Topps would again go with the landscape view for their 1956 set, which also features a shot of the player in action. The 1955 Topps set also famously includes the rookie cards of Roberto Clemente, Harmon Killebrew and of course, Sandy Koufax.

The 1955 set is interestingly missing Mickey Mantle. Mantle had exclusive rights to Bowman to use his image and likeness for baseball cards from 1954-1955, so the Mick does not make his reappearance to Topps until 1956 Topps. Additionally, you will notice Bob Feller and Whitey Ford had exclusive deals to Bowman as well in 1955, so you will not find their cards in the set either.

1956 Topps Card of Mickey Mantle

Another interesting fact about 1955 Topps is that it is numerically the smallest Topps issued set ever produced. There are 206 cards in the set, however it was initially supposed to be 210 cards. Cards # 175, 186, 203, and 209 were never produced.

The Complete Set Break

I recently put together a 1955 Topps complete set, and am selling spots for our 6th Vintage Complete Set Break.

If you are unfamiliar with how set breaks work, spots are purchased for each card that exists in the set. Each spot purchased guarantees a card from the set at random. Once all spots are purchased, we then schedule a LIVE event on my TikTok and YouTube channels where all spots are entered into a randomizer tool. The randomizer tool then randomizes everyone's name and assigns their name to a number. The number you land on then represents the # card you win in the set!

So if the randomizer draws your name to #123, you would win card #123, the Sandy Koufax rookie card!

I am offering spots at a discount for those that buy multiple, and they can be purchased here on my website:

You will also notice I am giving away a 1955 World Series official program from the Yankees vs. Dodgers World Series that went 7 games, ultimately with the Dodgers coming out on top.

Check out this video highlighting Game 7 of the Series:

Here is a picture of the World Series program I am giving away to one lucky winner! (The winner of the Koufax and Clemente Rookies will NOT be eligible)

Additionally, I am giving away an additional 1955 Willie Mays card to those that enter the break, and will give it away on the day of the set break filling!

If you would like to purchase multiple spots in the 1955 Set Break, use these discount codes on the website to save $!

$65.00 / 1 slot

$120 / 2 slots (for $10 off use code 10OFF)

$275 / 5 slots (for $50 off use code 50OFF)

$500 / 10 slots (for $150 off use code 150OFF)

We currently have 154/206 spots in the break claimed, so we have 52 spots remaining! Once we get within 20 spots left, I will set an official date to do the break!
